Disk Defragmenter is a computer program included in Microsoft Windows designed to increase access speed by rearranging files stored on a disk to occupy contiguous storage locations, a technique commonly known as defragmenting. The purpose is to optimize the time it takes to read and write files to/from the disk by minimizing head travel time and maximizing the transfer rate. As of Windows XP, Disk Defragmenter is also used to improve system startup times.

How to Defragment Your Disks?

* Go to Start Menu ~>All programs~>Accessories~>System Tools~>Disk Defragmenter

* You will find your disks inside. Click on one of them and them click analyze. The software will analyze your disk if it need to be defragment or not.

* If it says that you do not need to defragment the volume, just close it.

* If it says that you need to defragment the volume, just click on the defragment. It will take time. You need to be patient.

* If its done, a message will pop-up saying, “Defragment is Complete”.

* Just close the progam.

DISK CLEANUP

is a software used to maintain your computer clean and fast. it will compress old files, internet files, windows files, downloaded programs, and recycle bin. it will also remove unused applications and setup log files.

How To Perform Disk Cleanup?

• Go to start menu~>all programs~>accessories~>system tools~>Disk Cleanup.
• Select a drive you want to clean up. Then press OK
• wait for a few minutes for the setup to be ready.
• Select files you want to delete. then press OK and then YES.
• It will take time, so please be patient.
• The setup will automatically close when its done.
